All 3 members of the resurging Reality Check were fined an undisclosed amount of money by POW president James Gallagher in the largest fine levied against talent in POW history stemming from their collective actions at the July POW Tag-Team Championship Showcase.
For those not in attendance, the final round of the tournament involved Roberts and Core taking on Bruno DeMaio and his partner Ritch Howe. Howe (who did not have PSAC clearance to compete in the tournament) produced a pair of brass knuckles from his briefcase and rendered Bruno unconsious with a punch to the temple with the knucks in question. A Core/Roberts win was guaranteed, and Howe cemented the return of NEPA's most hated stable by having Core and Roberts sign exclusive deals with him, circumventing the POW hiring process.
POW President James Gallagher was understandably furious. He did, however, concede the tag team titles to the new Reality Check before levying the largest fine in POW history against the offending parties for "damaging the credibility of our new titles."
Gallagher has stated that the new champions will recieve their brand new POW tag-team title belts at the November 1st showcase. Reality Check has not released any type of statement.

Rachel "Sally Good" Townsend Returns To Pride Of Wrestling
Pride Of Wrestling officials have informed us that former New Jersey All-Stars manager Rachel "Sally Good" Townsend has returned to Pride Of Wrestling and will be making her re-debut on November 1st as part of the "Brand New Violence" Showcase in Nanticoke PA.
As several people have already commented, Townsend's return to POW raises a lot of questions. First, she was the manager of record for Lucky, Orange Cassidy, JC Ryder, and Danny Rage. An injury Townsend suffered in a car accident back in April kept her from attending the POW Fernwood showcase.....the showcase that resulted in the release of her clients. We do know that Townsend is back at 100% health and that she intends to continue her managerial career in POW. But given her choice in past clients, her newest find may well be cut from the same cloth and may well be an equal headache to POW staff. It's purely speculation at this point, but Ms. Townsend's past is filled with unsavory characters. We would be remissed in expecting any less on November 1st.
When pressed via telephone as to the identity of her new client/clients, she simply stated that she was not at liberty to discuss the situation, and suggested that we invest $8 on November 1st, if for no other reson than to see what she's wearing...or...knowing Rachel Townsend...what she's NOT wearing.
In any event, it is confirmed that Rachel Townsend will be returning on November 1st at the Nanticoke Armory.

Talks Come Up Short: Davino Declines 11/1 Event
In an unprecedented series of events, VWA Unified Heavyweight Champion Joey Davino has declined to defend his title at Pride Of Wrestling's "Brand New Violence" event on November 1st. This announcement comes on the heels of a seemingly nasty fallout between VWA directors and Pride Of Wrestling President James Gallagher.
While the details we are getting seem sketchy, what we do know for certain is that VWA and POW have had a working relationship since mid-2006, when Matt Turner began defending the VWA championship on POW (at the time VCW) showcases. Then-president Ritch Howe secured the championships again in May of 2008, and President Gallagher seemed to accept the deal at face value when he assumed the office in mid-June 2008. Right around July, however, things went sour.
Announced plans for a VWA Tag-Team tournament were scrapped as Pride Of Wrestling opted to recognize it's own tag team champions. The eventual winners of the POW tournament, Core and Roberts of The Violence Party, are not VWA-oriented competitors, and have refused to defend their newly won titles anywhere except POW.
In retaliation, VWA has refused to make VWA Champion Joey Davino available for the important November 1st charity event. Attempts by Gallagher to sway Davino's stance ultimately proved to be fruitless; Davino will be defending the VWA Championship on November 1st, however, it will not be in Nanticoke or with POW for the current forseeable future. We hope to have more information available soon.

A Downward Spiral
On Sunday evening, former Pride Of Wrestling President and former VWA representative Ritch Howe gave candid comments to a POW cameraman as he exited the Pride Of Wrestling offices in Kingston, PA.
Howe, who had been summoned by James Gallagher to sign a confidentiality agreement, readily shared his views and opinons on the whole Presidency matter, taking a few extra minutes to berate those who he feels have wronged him in some way. His comments were, at times, disturbing.
As an editors note, Howe looked and seemed dissassociated. After working with Ritch for the last 2 years, it is VERY unusual for him to be seen in public in street clothes. Not only did he show up to Pride Of Wrestling HQ in shorts and a t-shirt, he allowed a camera crew to film in this state. His comments, which came from an uncharacteristic low tone for the volumous former president, were direct and , at times, disturbing.
In my opinon, something is up.....
Here are Mr. Howe's comments in full. Judge for yourself.

Teddy Fined
Pride Of Wrestling competitor Teddy Fine was fined (no pun intended) an undisclosed amount by members of POW's management and investment team following a stern warning from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission. These actions follow the heinous "scalping" incident that took place during the "Rock/Wrestling" showcase in Bushkill which saw Fine and manager Don Bootz shave the head of Pride Of Wrestling mainstay Sebastian Dark.
"Actions like the ones displayed by Mr. Fine and company will not be tolerated here in Pride Of Wrestling" said POW Representative Barry Dwyer. "A number of offending parties have been given their pink walking papers due to conduct unbecoming on that particular showcase. Mr. Fine should make it a priority not to be the next one."
In a related bit, Sebastian Dark has been hounding POW representatives for a rematch with Teddy Fine. A decision on this matter is expected within the next several days.

Breaking News: Ritch Howe LEAVING Pride Of Wrestling?
By all appearances, it would seem that Ritch Howe's role in Pride Of Wrestling has shrunk drastically.
Pride Of Wrestling's infamous President has been the center of controversy since the May 25th "Rock/Wrestling" showcase in Bushkill. And while it seems like a return to business as usual in the past few weeks, there is no doubt that "The Banger" is keeping a very low profile.
The wayward president's troubles seem to have begun in Bushkill. Among several negative factors stemming from his performance at the Fernwood "Rock/Wrestling" showcase, it is widely known that the principle investors in POW were absolutely appalled at several aspects: notably the presence of alcohol at ringside and the scalping of Sebastian Dark by Teddy Fine. Howe was visibly upset following the showcase, and refused all media questions and involvement. Just 5 minutes after the close of the show, Howe ordered the doors closed and locked, and had all spectators removed from the building.....including most of Fernwood's privately held staff and Pride Of Wrestling principle investors John Sult and Barry Dwyer.
Since the show, Sult and Dwyer have publicly lambasted Howe, referring to him as the "Interim President" and questioning his qualifications and methods of execution. Howe, in an uncharacteristic move, has remained absolutely silent, which is something thought impossible from the outspoken president.
Calls and e-mails to the president remain unanswered. Whats going on here?

Pride Of Wrestling: "Rock/Wrestling" Results
- Brodie Lee, Mikey Vaughn, and Kryptik Keegan defeated The New Jersey Independent All-Stars in 8:11 when Brodie Lee connected with a Big Boot on Orange Cassidy. Danny Rage and Lucky were seen carrying an unconsious Cassidy to the locker room.
- DJ Hyde, Adam Cole, Alex Colon, Massive Mike, The Sensational One, and Louis G. Rich accepted the Pride Of Wrestling Open Battle Royal Challenge, competing for a Pride Of Wrestling Contract. Hyde, a foot taller and over 100lbs larger than any other competitor, eliminated every last participant, while Louis Rich, apparantly suffering from a sudden outbreak of "limbertail", paced the ringside area and avoided all contact. DJ Hyde and Louis Rich were the finalists, and would compete later in the evening.
- Al Snow made his first appearance of the evening coming to the ring for an interview. He thanked the people of Bushkill for coming out, and promised everyone that he would leave Fernwood the New VWA Unified Heavyweight Champion. Devon Moore, one of his opponents in the main event, arrived on the scene, telling Snow to not interfere with his 18 month odyssey and stay out of his way as it came to the championship. VWA Unified Heavyweight Champion Joey Davino arrived on the scene, and attempted to discredit both challengers, calling Snow a "Joke" and implying that he wasn't even aware who Devon was. Snow told Joey to "run along and polish the belt." because he wanted it nice and shiny for his flight home. Davino and Moore left in disgust as Snow led the crowd in a "What does everybody Want?" chant.
- Bruno DeMaio, accompanied by manager "Slick" Paul Williams, defeated Tuck Hanson, who was answering Bruno's open challenge. After a brief flurry of offense, the overmatched Hanson fell prey to a sadistic DeMaio assault, including a vertical suplex on the arena floor, and a deadly Death Valley Driver which secured the pin for Bruno. After the bout, DeMaio began to strangle Hanson with his foot, laying all 340lbs+ directly on Hanson's throat. Mikey Vaughn attempted to give Hanson assistance, only to be met with a scoop piledriver from DeMaio as he entered the ring. Finally, Brodie Lee arrived on the scene, and a ferocious battle between Lee and Bruno erupted. The ring filled with referees, VWA Officials, and even Pride Of Wrestling President Ritch Howe, who instructed "Slick" Paul Williams to remove Bruno from the ring area. As Howe was leaving, Brodie yelled for Ritch to "get the papers together, because I'll do it anytime."
- Former VWA Unified Champion Matt Turner defeated "Addicted To Love" Rhett Titus in 12:00 with the Fujiwara Armbar. Titus was accompanied by Rebekah Rhinestone, who came to the ring admiring herself in a hand-held mirror. Match was a see-saw battle, with neither man maintaining a clear advantage throughout the match. Turner was able to connect with several hard forearms to Titus' jaw, and Titus responded in turn with vicious kicks, punches, and a modified legdrop he referred to as "Rhettsky The Jetski". Shortly after, Ms. Rhinestone attempted to interfere on Titus' behalf, but Turner countered by dragging Rhinestone into the ring and spanking her. Titus attempted to capitalize, but fell victim to the deadly submission. Turner offered his hand in respect after the match (Both are Ring Of Honor graduates), but Titus threw a phantom punch and fled the ring quickly. Turner then caught the attention
- DJ Hyde defeated Louis G. Rich (accompanied by Jaden) to claim his Pride Of Wrestling Contract. Adam Cole and Alex Colon assaulted Hyde with a chair as Hyde made his entrance, obviously at the prompting of Louis Rich. Hyde was rolled into the ring, seemingly for an easy win, but Hyde was able to recover, and began to inflict punishment on Rich as soon as his bearings returned. Several hard knife edge chops later, Hyde executed the spear and set for the Lariat. Jaden, however, hopped onto the ring apron in a vein attempt to distract Hyde while Rich wrapped a chain around his fist. Rich instead clobbered Jaden with the chain, then found himself on the recieving end of a vicious Lariat. 3 seconds later, DJ Hyde was signed to Pride Of Wrestling permanently.
- Sebastian Dark defeated "The Prime Time Player" Teddy Fine (accompanied by Dr. Don Bootz) by submission in 13:44. Teddy made his entrance first....which lasted about 5 minutes....spraying everything and everyone in sight with his "Fiesta Bottle". Dark appeared next, completely unamused and ready to brawl. And brawl they did....all over the Fernwood event center. When the referee was finally able to return them to the ring, Dark was able to apply a compound leglock and force the surrender from Fine. Dr. Bootz, however, attempted to attack Dark from behind. As Dark dealt with "The Mad Doctor" , Fine delivered three of the loudest chair shots in recent memory. Fine then produced hair clippers, and with Dr. Bootz restraining Dark, proceded to shave half of Sebastians long hair. As Dark revived, Fine high-tailed it to the dressing room.....while Dr. Bootz was left to eat a DDT.
-Joey Davino defeated Al Snow (with Head) and Devon Moore to retain the VWA Unified Heavyweight Championship. Snow arrived to the ring with Head in tow, giving the referee fits as Snow refused to leave Head "at ringside", instead using "Head" to threaten and menace Davino and Moore. Davino and Moore countered well, taking every opportunity to double team the legendary veteran. Snow, in turn, showed incredible skill in dealing with the 2-on-1 onslaught. At one point, he was able to connect with a BRUTAL stomp to Davino's head, seemingly rendering the champion unable to continue. Sensing victory and a title victory, Snow lifted Moore into position for "The Snowplow". Davion however, always the opportunist, waited for Snow to connect, then threw the veteran to the ringside floor. Davino immediately covered Moore and retained his title. Snow, in frustration, leveled the champion with "Head", then returned to the dressing room amidst cheers from the crowd.

Breaking News: Joey Davino vs Devon Moore vs Al Snow for VWA Unified Title Headlines Fernwood May 25th
During what may have been the strangest press conference in recent memory, Pride Of Wrestling President Ritch Howe announced that, on May 25th at Fernwood Resort, Joey Davino would defend his prestigous Valley Wrestling Alliance Unified Heavyweight Championship against independant wrestling superstar Devon Moore, as well as bona-fide legend Al Snow in a Three-Way Dance. This will be, Howe explains, the one and only time Pride Of Wrestling will recognize the VWA Championship.
"It is extremely important that Pride Of Wrestling recognizes it's own champion" Howe said during the conference. "The sheer quality of the talent involved dictates so. The VWA is a great organization, and I look forward to working with them for a long time. It is necessary for us, however, to establish our own identity."
Devon Moore, a perennial challenger to Davino's title, was optimistic. "(Davino) has ducked and dodged me now for months...using his connections on the VWA board of directors to avoid facing me. Now, I got him at Fernwood. I got Al Snow in Fernwood, and most important....I got the VWA title..finally...in Fernwood. May 25th will be my day. Guaranteed."
Al Snow, who was with the press conference via satellite call, was direct in his statements regarding Pride Of Wrestling's inaugural event.
"Everyone expects me to arrive at Fernwood, teach these two rookies a lesson, and leave the VWA champion. And all I will say is this: No one will leave disappointed, especially not me."
The most telling reaction of all may have been VWA Champion Joey Davino, who sat in stone silence as the announcement was made. When pressed for comments, Davino would only reinterate "I work for VWA.....and NOT Pride Of Wrestling."
And I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't mention that Ritch Howe, president of Pride Of Wrestling, is a well-known VWA Board Of Directors member. His involvement in the decision making process is intering...to say the least.
More details on the press conference are forthcoming. Keep it here for more information.

Howe Confirms Fernwood Event For 5/25

Pride Of Wrestling To Hold Press Conference 4/24

The producers of America's Newest Brand Of Pro Wrestling have announced a live press conference, eminating live from ENERGY 21 NIGHTCLUB in Plain, PA. The date has been announced as April 24th with a start time of 8pm. Admission is absolutely free, and POW encourages press and fans alike to attend. Pictures and questions are encouraged, and the event will be hosted by Pride Of Wrestling Color Analyst and Lead Commentator J.Gordon Morella.
On April 24th, Mr. Morella will open the conference by naming the first acting president of Pride Of Wrestling. This announcement, which is surrounded by wide speculation, will essentially set the tone for the product for the forseeable future. Too many names have been speculated to list, but they include some of the most well-known promoters, veterans, and businessmen in the business....as well as a few longshots as well. One thing is absolutely certain: the decision and appointment of a Pride Of Wrestling President will no doubt shake the business to it's very foundation.
In addition to this huge announcement, the newly named president's first order of business will be to announce the set roster for Pride Of Wrestling, and officially announce Pride Of Wrestling's first showcase. Again, the names that have been dropped reads like the who's-who of the North American independant wrestling circuit. It is a certainty, however, that more than a few of these competitors will ink a deal with Pride Of Wrestling on April 24th. In the following 7 days, some of these impending signees will be announced online, so keep an eye on Pride Of Wrestling's blogger, as well as Pride Of Wrestling MySpace bulletins. Links to both are located at the bottom of this page.
Area media outlets are encouraged to contact Pride Of Wrestling at (570)954-5578 to acquire media kits at no charge and to guarantee your place at the conference. Seating for fans and the general public is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Again, thank you for your interest in America's Newest Brand Of Pro Wrestling, and we hope to see you on April 24th.
